Urbanics prepared a comprehensive land use planning and supporting rationale for a proposed agri-commercial development on an approximately 44-acre property at 17931 Old Dewdney Trunk Road in Pitt Meadows. The assignment evaluated the site’s strategic location, agricultural and economic context, alignment with municipal and provincial policy objectives, and the regulatory considerations associated with developing lands within the Agricultural Land Reserve. Urbanics developed the planning rationale for a proposed agri-food hub incorporating food processing and cold storage, farm-to-table commercial uses, and an agriculture-related research and innovation centre. The work also identified the required municipal and Agricultural Land Commission approval pathways and demonstrated how the proposed development could support local agriculture, food security, value-added processing, supply-chain infrastructure, employment, and economic development in Pitt Meadows.
