Cranbrook- Supply Chain Study and Development feasibility

Date: 2025 – 2026
Client: City of Cranbrook

Urbanics Consultants Ltd. was retained by the City of Cranbrook to undertake a Supply Chain and Business Case Study for two strategic employment areas: the Canadian Rockies International Airport lands and the Highway 95A industrial lands. The study assessed Cranbrook’s competitive position within regional and cross-border supply chains and evaluated opportunities across key sectors including aerospace, defence, logistics and warehousing, energy, mining, retail, heavy industry, and tourism.

The study combined economic and sector analysis, employment land and infrastructure assessment, stakeholder engagement, land-use planning, and financial and economic modelling to identify opportunities for investment attraction and long-term economic diversification. Urbanics identified aerospace, heavy industry and advanced manufacturing, and logistics and distribution as key near- to medium-term opportunities, and developed land-use and development scenarios for the Airport and Highway 95A lands to support future servicing, investment, and employment growth.
