Economic Development Review

Comox Valley Regional District, BC (2013)

Urbanics is currently working on Comox Valley Economic Development Reviews. The main objectives of the study are to assess the Economic Development Service Function and to review the performance of the Comox Valley Economic Development Society. With the final report revisions submitted, Urbanics will present its findings and recommendations to the CVRD Committee of the Whole on April 8th, 2014.

Red Deer, AB (2013)

The study created  strategies for:

  • Economic diversification

  • Enhancing local business and job opportunities

  • Using and developing land efficiently

  • Enhancing the assessment base of the City

  • Implementation plan 

Economic Development Strategy

Kimberley, BC (2009)

  • Involved extensive consultation with members of the community and key stakeholders through focus group sessions and surveys

  • A list of community-level economic objectives were devised based on the community visioning process

  • The study created strategies for:

    • Attracting investment

    • Enhancing job opportunities

    • Enhancing economic sustainability

Creston Valley, BC (2008)

The study reviewed the Economic Development Function and made recommendations related to:

  • Core functions

  • Community relations
